Responsibilities
- Serve as primary on-site technical lead, from site survey to delivery, for all leased OSP and ISP infrastructure builds or augments within the Hong Kong areas.
- Facilitate installation, commissioning, testing and acceptance support for all local, regional, or global just in time network capacity augment and service turn-up projects.
- Coordinate across teams and third parties to ensure we maintain the quality standards in all assigned data center locations and remote points of presence (POP).
- Provide support for other teams as necessary to repair and maintain the network assets.
- Ensure vendor delivery occurs where, what, when, and how assets are delivered.
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with telecom/network equipment, DWDM, backbone and management routers, IP switches, all optical and digital infrastructure, AC and DC power installations.
- Experience with data center, POP infrastructure, OSP, ISP, interfacility cabling, fiber and copper distribution, AC/DC power systems, environmental controls, and relay rack/cabinet/cage construction.
- Experience with optical test equipment, optical troubleshooting using OTDR, OSA, BERT and optical power meters.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with local exchange carrier (LEC) and other telecom service providers, building landlords, electricians, construction operators, and non-technical end users.
- Experience with logical inventories like Netcracker or Granite; ability to read fiber or duct tables, CAD drawings, rack elevations and blueprints, work independently, diagnose problems, and take appropriate action with minimal supervision.
- Ability to speak and write English and any other regional language fluently and idiomatically.
- Experience with Huawei/Cisco router, supermicro servers.
